1. Acceptance of Terms
By engaging with Boreal Routes for glacier expeditions, frost-themed tours, Arctic and Antarctic voyages, custom itinerary planning, adventure travel consulting, wildlife viewing packages, or polar region flight and accommodation booking, you signify your irrevocable acceptance of these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree to these terms, you must not use our services or our online platform.
2. Services Provided
Boreal Routes offers a range of specialized travel services focused on polar regions and unique cold-climate destinations. These services include, but are not limited to, the curation of glacier expeditions, arrangement of frost-themed tours, booking of Arctic and Antarctic voyages, development of custom travel itineraries, provision of adventure travel consulting, structuring of wildlife viewing packages, and reservation of flights and accommodations pertinent to polar region travel.
3. Booking and Payments
- Deposits and Final Payments: Specific deposit amounts and payment schedules will be communicated at the time of booking, varying depending on the nature and duration of the travel service. Final payment due dates are critical and adherence is required to secure your booking.
- Pricing: Prices for our services are subject to change without prior notice until a booking is confirmed. All prices are quoted in the currency specified by Boreal Routes, typically CAD, unless otherwise stated.
- Payment Methods: We accept various payment methods, which will be detailed during the booking process.
4. Cancellations and Refunds
- Client Cancellations: Cancellation policies vary significantly for each tour, expedition, or service. Details of the specific cancellation policy applicable to your booking will be provided in writing. Generally, deposits are non-refundable, and cancellation fees increase closer to the departure date.
- Operator Cancellations: Boreal Routes reserves the right to cancel or reschedule any trip due to unforeseen circumstances, including but not limited to, natural disasters, political instability, insufficient participant numbers, or operator decisions. In such cases, clients will be offered alternative dates, a credit for future travel, or a full refund, at the discretion of Boreal Routes. We are not responsible for any incidental expenses, such as non-refundable airfare, incurred by the client.
5. Travel Insurance
It is a mandatory condition for all clients engaging in our services to possess comprehensive travel insurance. This insurance must cover personal accident, medical expenses, repatriation, emergency evacuation, and cancellation or curtailment of services. Proof of valid insurance may be required prior to departure.
6. Client Responsibilities
- Health and Fitness: Clients are responsible for assessing their own health and fitness levels appropriate for the chosen activity. Some expeditions require specific levels of physical endurance.
- Documentation: Clients are solely responsible for obtaining and carrying all necessary travel documents, such as passports, visas, and health certificates, required for their chosen itinerary.
- Compliance: Clients must comply with the laws, customs, and regulations of the countries visited, as well as with the instructions of Boreal Routes guides and representatives.
7. Limitation of Liability
Boreal Routes acts as an agent for various third-party suppliers (e.g., airlines, cruise operators, local guides, hotels). We are not liable for any acts, omissions, or defaults of these third parties. Our liability for any claim arising from your booking or travel arrangement with us is limited to the cost of the particular service. Boreal Routes is not liable for any injury, damage, loss, delay, or expense caused by events beyond our control, including but not limited to war, terrorism, natural disasters, or pandemics.
8. Privacy Policy
Your privacy is important to us. Our Privacy Policy, available separately on this site, details how we collect, use, and protect your personal information.
9. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Quebec, Canada, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from or in connection with these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Montreal, Quebec, Canada.
10. Amendments to Terms
